Everything Jake #830: Junior Year
Whiteout.
To Jake, the answer was simple enough. “Because we just slept together.”

“We WHAT?”

“Whoa whoa whoa, Faith, chill a second, don’t you think it would be hard to have sex with all our clothes on?”

“Oh. Uh, yeah, I see that we have all our clothes on—“

“And thanks for sound totally repulsedified at the fact that—“

“What the hell is repulsedified mean?”

“The look on your face, Faith. It was very repulsedifing.”

“How are you an English major?”

“Beats me. You hungover?”

“Worse. Why are we here? I can’t remember…”

“Kelly’s party? The return of Albert? You honestly don’t remember?”

“No. Well, bits and pieces. I… I remember how good it was to see you again…”

“Hey, we just slept together, no need to get all nice on me.”

“I’m serious, Jake. It kinda felt good to see you when I woke up…”

“I was staring at you all night.”

“Really?”

“No, woke up two seconds before you did. Looks like you were having some sort of hellish nightmare.”

“It was about London, I think, and Mercy.”

“…”

“What really happened there Jake?”

“We went on vacation and a wall fell on me and Mercy.”

I don’t know why I’m lying to her. That’s the story, though, that’s the one they implanted in everyone. We took a vacation and shit happened. I can’t believe only me and Kelly know the truth. I’m glad he filled me in on the way over here, he said Jenkins told him that if Megoth, Trish, or Faith find out the truth they could be in some serious mental anguish. You would think that Jenkins would have told me… maybe he wanted me...

“I know, Jake, but while I remember everything, I still… are you okay?”

“I just thought of something. It’s unimportant. I’d like not to talk about what happened in London, if that’s okay with you, Faith?”

“It’s okay. I forgot my dream anyway. So how did you coax me into bed with you?”

“Wasn’t hard. I carried you in when you were passed out.”

“Sorry I was so easy.”

“You actually weren’t the easiest I’ve ever gotten in bed.”

“Next time won’t be as easy.”

“Did you say next time?”

“Might’ve. Still snowing out there?”

“Looks like it. Let’s take a gander.”

“Gander?”

“Shut up.”

The window was above there heads, and they both awkwardly bed-moved into positions where they could see outside. Sometimes, gravity doesn’t work the same when you’re in bed, especially when you’re trying not to touch each other. There was no blinds or curtains on the window, it was bare. “Holy fuck.”

“I think that’s the first time I ever heard you say ‘fuck’ Faith.”

“Really? I say it all the time. Fuck this, fuck that, I’m a fuck-a-holic.”

“I’ll remember that. That’s a lot of snow, ain’t it?”

“Fuck yeah.”

“We supposed to have this much snow?”

“Does that matter? Weatherman couldn’t tell us how to tie our shoes let alone what the weather is. How many feet do you think? Four? Five?”

“More like ten. Look at my car.”

“But that’s a snow drift, Jake, the snow builds on the side of—“

“I meant look on top of it.”

“Can’t really tell where the top of it is.”

“My point. Looks like we’re stuck here.”

“Wait… where are Mercy and Sandy?”

“When I brought you in here, they were still playing cards with Kelly and Megoth…”

“Wonder how that worked out for them?”

“Wanna make bets on who got with who?”

“Sure. Whatcha got?”
