 Everything Jake #977 Roger: So you guys hungry? We were thinking lunch… Jake, Kelly, Faith: Sure Jake: What’s good around here? Faith: No Mexican. Jake: We ate in Old Town last night and it wasn’t good. Noah: Really? Roger: You have to be careful where you go in Old Town… Faith: We know better for next time. Kelly: I’m never going back to Old Town again. Roger: So no Mexican, gotcha. That basically cuts the choices in half. Noah: You guys like beer? Kelly: Yes. Jake: Beer for lunch? Sounds delicious. Faith: I’d rather eat food? Noah: There’s this place, Rockwells, in the Gaslight District? Great food, even better beer. Kelly: Gaslight District? Um… Roger: It’s really good beer. Kelly: Sold. Noah: Jake? Faith? Good for you guys? Jake: Sure. Lead the way, Noah Goodman. Everything Jake #978 Roger: So Noah tells me that you guys went to high school together? Jake: Yeah, back on Long Island. Faith: It feels like a lifetime ago, right? Noah: You know it. So, uh, how— Kelly: Did you know Jake’s other friends, Noah? Rich and that fat kid, what was his name? Noah: Tom. Kelly: Yeah, did you know them? Noah: Um… Jake: We, uh, we knew each other, Kelly, but we weren’t really friends… Kelly: Hm…? Faith: They used to pick on Noah a little bit. Actually, Jake was quite the asshole in high school right, hon? Jake: Yeah, I guess. Kelly: What changed? He’s still an asshole. Jake: No… Noah: It’s okay, high school was a lifetime ago, and people do change. I mean… wow, who would have thought that you guys would be together? Kelly: You’re talking to Jake and Faith, right? Noah: Um… Kelly: Joke. It’s just a joke. Roger: You’ll have to forgive Noah, he seemed to have left his sense of humor back at campus. Noah: I have a goo— Roger: Shhh Noah, it’s okay. We understand. Noah: So how did you guys get together? Jake: She begged me to go out with her, I finally said yes after two years. Faith: You wish. It was you who was begging. Roger: I can see that. Pretty girl. Faith: thank you? Kelly: I actually went out with Faith first, see, Jake gets all my sloppy seconds. Faith: Who wishes now? Noah: Better than nothing, right? (silence) Roger: So, Faith, did you know Noah was in love with you in high school?
